History

On November 1, 2007, a second trailer for the upcoming movie was released on the band's official website which also leaked onto YouTube.[2]

On February 14, 2009, DeLonge stated on his blog that the movie is complete and would be out soon. He stated "The film is done, but, like an album, there are a million little tiny details that they're trying to work out".

DeLonge spoke again about the album on Modcam on February 15, 2009, on his social networking site, Modlife. The release of the movie would be held off until 2010, and would be coupled with the band's third album.[3].

On October 17, 2009, Tom Delonge stated in his blog on Modlife that the release of the movie may be pushed back a little bit after the release of Love. That same day he wrote another blog stating "I am proud to announce the movie trailer will be released exclusively on Apple Trailers, and here of course for its world wide debut....Scheduled to appear on the day of Friday, Oct. 30th thank you all for your patience...it has been quite the trip over the past four years making this film....I have a feeling it will be all you hope it to be....you guys rule....peace"

On October 29, 2009, a new trailer for the movie was released by Angels & Airwaves themselves to modlife members. Since then, it has leaked to various other websites including YouTube. In the video it includes snippets from the song "Letters To God, Part II". In a podcast interview with Jon Wiederhorn of MTV, Tom stated that the movie will be finished in June after Angels & Airwaves wraps up their tour in time for a release sometime in the fall.

In an interview with ThePunkSite.com on April 11, 2010, Tom DeLonge said that they're currently planning on putting the finishing touches on the film by July 2010 and after that trying to get the film into theaters. He also explained the hope behind the movie saying: "I can tell you, honestly, the movie is ten times better than I thought it would be. But it’s not meant to compete with Transformers. This is an art-house film and no band has really done this in a very long time. So we’re hoping that we catch some people off guard and we’re also hoping that we do something that is very credible as far its artistic acumen goes."[4]

In a recent Modlife modcam update on July 14, 2010, Delonge has confirmed that a second studio album in the Love project will be released along with the film of the same title in 2011 spring. The Blink-182 frontman has also revealed that the upcoming studio album would be titled Love: Part II, and might be set for an early March release date
